Most of the world's makers have been busy trying different fuels and power types.

Most if not all makers have been busy with some kind of electric or hybrid vehicle design.

The Prius from Toyota and the Insight from Honda are selling well now, in fact the other makers are starting to sweat.

This gives them a lead in the market and the other makers are beginning to panic about the possibility of being left behind, but not Volvo...

Most if not all electric cars on the market are made by bit players, small manufacturers with some muscle but not the manufacturing might of Volvo, GM, Nissan, Mitsubishi who have all announced their plans recently...

Volvo has begun a partnership with Ener1 to build its battery packs.

While not yet in production, The Volvo Recharge will make people sit up and take notice....

Mainly because of looks, and the fact that it is all wheel electric drive...And sound...

All wheel drive via 4 wheel based motors should provide much better performance and considering possible 50 hp or more each, quite likely providing stellar performamce that will make people really sit up and notice electric cars...
