The Lexus Hybrid HS250h gives Lexus it's first entry level hybrid only vehicle.
Which means that you can't buy a gasoline only version of the car.
It also uses the same engine and electric drive that the Toyota version does.
It also uses the Camry Hybrid drive train, not the Prius which was used to create the car, surprisingly.
Another variation is the fact that the HS250H is a four door sedan, not a 5 door like the Prius.
At a standard price of $34,200 the HS205H will start with a range of extras that only a Lexus can have.
Lots of gadgets are available as extras, if you want to option up the base model.
Radar cruise control is one option, a head up windshield speed display and bluetooth phone connectivity another, 190 degree front view monitor and navigation display with real time traffic and weather info.
The HS 250 creates 70% less smog than the average gas powered car, so says Toyota.
Driving the Lexus is more like taking a spin in a V6 than a four cylinder, thanks to the electric motor installed.
There are four hybrid drive modes available, including normal, power, eco and EV.
The EV mode allows you to drive for a short time in electric only mode.
Both front buckets are very comfortable and the ride is whisper quiet as you would expect with a Lexus.
Standard items with the Lexus are leather seats with 10 way power control for the driver, 8 way for the passenger, a six cd changer with 10 speakers and 137 watts of power with a subwoofer, bluetooth for phone connectivity and streaming music, and 17 inch alloy wheels.
Safety features include 10 air bags, four wheel discs, abs braking system, electronic stability control and active headrests in the front.
Extra options and gadgets include: Touring Pack with heated front seats, adaptive led headlights, auto high beam switching, 18 inch alloys and a navigation pack, rain sensing wipers, heated self dimming outside mirrors, wood interior trim, and can fit five people comfortably into its interior.
